About the production

Mr. Simon adapted this play from his 1965 Tony Award Winning comedy. The original “The Odd Couple” opened on Broadway in 1965 starring Art Carney and Walter Matthau and directed by Mike Nichols. The play led to a television series and a movie. The Female Version of “The Odd Couple” opened in 1985 starring Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers and directed by Gene Saks. In this adaptation Olive Madison, a successful television producer and slob, and Florence Unger, a meticulous housekeeper, superb cook and decorator, are best friends and complete opposites. They are thrown together when Flo’s marriage breaks up. The consequences are dynamic and hilarious.

Starring in Dreamchasers’ production are Amanda Wilson of Hanover and Sinclair Dean of Cohasset. Rounding out the cast of talented young actors are Alexandria Huntington of Scituate, Corinne Manning and Tess Wenger of Norwell, Julia D’Allessandro of Marshfield, Emma Parrish of Duxbury, Richard Alcott of Rockland, and Andrew DeVitre of Cohasset. Creating costumes, hair, and makeup are Tempe Huntington of Scituate, Maggie Russell of Norwell, and Sandra Holbrook of Weymouth. Running sound are Makenzie Schmitt and Rachael Caldwell of Norwell. Doing props are Colleen Gill of Pembroke and Ryan Barrow of Cohasset. Running concessions is Kevin Doyle of Norwell. Creating the program is Julie Alcott of Rockland. The production is designed and directed by Dreamchasers Artistic Director Rosann M. Weeks.
