The Miracle Worker
By William Gibson
Performed by Dreamchasers March 14 - 16, 2003
"The Miracle Worker" is set in Tuscumbia, Alabama in 1887 where the
Keller family is nearly at the end of their rope as they seek to find a
specialist who can do something with their deaf and blind 7 year old daughter,
Helen. They expect their hopes to be dashed once again when a 20 year-old Yankee
girl, a recent graduate of the Perkins School for the Blind with no experience
in teaching arrives at their doorstep. From the beginning it is clear that it
will be an uphill battle to reach the half-wild, unmannered, spoiled child. In
fact, it would take a miracle to reach her.
