Dreamchasers Theatre Arts Center of Norwell
is now accepting registrations for their Summer
Theatre Program. Classes begin July 7th and
conclude on Saturday, August 2nd with a
performance by all of the students. All classes
and performances are held at Dreamchasers home,
The Norwell Grange Hall, 142 Main Street in
Norwell. Summer Classes meet each Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All students take classes in Acting, Dance and
Stage Movement, and Improvisation. They then
have electives from which to choose which
include Choreography or Technical Theatre, and
Musical Theatre or Playwriting. The performance
on Saturday, August 2nd, celebrates the students
and their work in all of these disciplines. The
objective of this program is to offer each
student the opportunity to develop his or her
artistic skills while increasing self-confidence
and awareness through the Art of Theatre. To
chase their dreams!
Dreamchasers Summer faculty includes Kara
Loth who will be teaching Dance and Stage
Movement and Choreography. Kara is a graduate of
Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Dance Performance. She
choreographed and performed with the Roger
Williams Dance Theatre Program for four years.
She has participated in the American College of
Arts Dance Festival and the Bates College Dance
Festival. For the past four years Kara has
taught fourth grade and an after school dance
program at the Clifford Marshall School of
Quincy. This will be Kara’s ninth season with
Dreamchasers.
Teaching Musical Theatre is Rosemarie
Gentile. Mrs. Gentile holds a Master of Music
Degree in Music Education from the Univ. of
Mass. at Amherst, and a Bachelor of Music, with
distinction, in Music Education from the Eastman
School of Music. She holds her Music
Certification in Mass. For K through 12th
grades, as well as Orff Schulwerk, Level 1 and
Level 2. She taught piano and music at the
Thacher Montessori School in Milton, Thayer
Academy in Braintree, Sacred Heart School in
North Quincy, and the Univ. of Mass. at Amherst.
She has been the Music Director and accompanist
for several community theatres including the
Cohasset Dramatic Club and the Burt Wood School
of Performing Arts in Middleboro, Ma. Mrs.
Gentile was the President of the South Shore
Music Teachers Association from 1998 to 2004.
She is currently the Director of Music at Notre
Dame Academy in Hingham. This will be Mrs.
Gentile’s fifth season with Dreamchasers.
Heading the Summer Program is Rosann Weeks,
Dreamchasers Artistic Director. Rosann will be
teaching Acting, Improvisation, Technical
Theatre, and Playwriting. Rosann’s resume
includes Director of CBS TV’s “As the World
Turns”, Founder and Artistic Director of the Hub
Theatre Center of Boston, Teacher of Acting at
Vassar College, C.W. Post College, The Coupe
Studio, and The Children’s Storefront School of
New York City. Rosann has directed over 200
professional stage productions in Regional,
Dinner, Stock, and Off-Broadway theatres. Her
former students include Oscar winners Rob Reiner
and Al Brooks, Cannes Film Festival Best Actress
Winner Kitty Winn, Director of the Theatre Wing
of Lincoln Center and Tony Award Winner Andre
Bishop, and the CEO of Sony Entertainment Andrew
Lack. Rosann is the recipient of the Boston
Critics Best Director Award for her production
of “The Rimers of Eldritch”. She holds a Master
of Fine Arts Degree in Directing from Boston
University.
This Summer’s Program is inspired by a
statement made by Eleanor Roosevelt: “The future
belongs to those who believe in the beauty of
their dreams.” Enrollment in this program is
limited to insure individual attention to each
student. Therefore, early registration is
