What's a patriotic mother to do when her beloved son returns from
Vietnam sooooooooo bummed out? A scathing satire of American Family
"Values," Christopher Durang's The Vietnamization of New Jersey is
an outrageous, diabolical romp through 1960's suburbia where the
Left, Right, and Middle (Class) are all in the crosshairs. Ozzie
Ann, Harry, Et... and the irrepressible Davey... battle for the soul
of the family unit; fortunately Hazel, their always helpful and
handy housekeeper, is there to provide much needed answers!

Today we received this wonderful update from Ali Selby:
At the age of 21 and on the brink of graduating from Boston
College with a major in Finance and a minor in Theater I recently
experienced the interview process for my future job, which in my
case is in the financial area of sales and trading. I interviewed
with many financial firms and received several offers based on my
college transcript and enhanced by the way that I was able to
present myself during the interview process. Nine years with
Dreamchasers under the direction of Rosann Weeks ultimately prepared
me with the skills needed to portray myself with confidence,
articulation and animation. Many of my interviewers were thrilled to
hear about my theater background and felt that it strongly
complemented my finance major and is a valuable concentration to
enhance my performance as a securities dealer. Studying with
Dreamchasers not only provides students with the assets and guidance
needed to become a successful actor, but in my case, a successful
candidate for the financial world.
[Webmaster's note: Thanks for the update, Ali, and best of
luck as you graduate and begin your new career!]

Makenzie Schmitt sent us this update:
The alumni page looks great, what a good idea! Now we can all stay up
to date on everyone! I got exciting news yesterday too, but it's not
theatre related...but I thought I'd let you know anyway. There's a
program at Fordham called Global Outreach where teams of ten students
are made up to travel to different countries to do community service. I
had to write a 3 page application and do this whole interview
process...anyway, yesterday I got a call from the guy who interviewed me
and I've been accepted to travel to El Salvador for two weeks right
after Christmas. We're going to fund raise all the money to go and then
work with different social justice groups and in orphanages and stuff
like that. Well, just thought I'd share that with you because I'm super
excited about it..and, don't worry..it's safe, I promise. Well, I've got
to run to Spanish Class right now, but I hope things are going well, and
wow, how exciting is that for Richard that he got callbacks for all 3
shows he auditioned for?! You must have trained us well! See you soon!
Miss you! Love, Makenzie.

Richard Alcott is now a Freshman at Catholic University. He is a
Drama Major. He auditioned his first week there for 3 plays, got
callbacks for all 3, and is cast as the Doctor in "Chamber Music".
Amazing accomplishment for a freshman.

Peter Collins is now a Freshman at Fordham University. He went
through a four hour audition for Fordham's Improv Troupe. Only six
students were chosen for this group, and Peter was one of them. Another
amazing accomplishment for a freshman.
