FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

05/23/06      Dreamchasers Theatre Arts Center will present four performances of “Love Rides the Rails”.  Written by Morland Cary, “Love Rides the Rails” is an old-fashioned, hilarious melodrama with delightful music.  The plot centers around Simon Darkway, villain, who seeks to control the Walker Valley, Pine Bush & Pacific Railroad for his own vile purposes.  Opposing him are the gallant Truman Pendennis, the beauteous Prudence Hopewell, the Widow Hopewell, and staunch Harold Stanfast.  Assisting Simon are Dirk Sneath, a viper of a man, and Carlotta Cortez, the sultry siren with a heart of gold.  Swiftly and hilariously the plot unfolds, leading to a tremendous climax when the hero is bound by the villains to the tracks in the path of an on-rushing train.  Will the heroine arrive in the nick of time?

Starring in Dreamchasers production are Devin Cheney of Duxbury as Simon, Jamie Connor of Plymouth as Truman, Amanda Wilson of Hanover as Prudence, Sinclair Dean of Cohasset as Carlotta, Conor Kane of Norwell as Dirk, Gabrielle Egan of Hanover as the Widow Hopewell, and Tom Driscoll of Norwell as Harold.  The rest of this talented cast includes Rachael Caldwell and Alice Tilles of Norwell, Raisa Hoffman and Julia D’Allessandro of Marshfield, Alexandria Huntington of Scituate, Adam Yeager of Cohasset, Emily Genovese of Hanover, and Richard Alcott of Rockland.

Debra Baird of Plymouth is the musical accompanist with special musical effects by Quinn Kane of Norwell.  Costumes, hair, and makeup are created by Maggie Russell and Abby Russell of Norwell, Sandra Holbrook of Abington, Tempe Huntington of Scituate, and Virginia DiRosario of Plymouth.  Set Construction is by David Caldwell of Norwell.

Concessions are handled by Kevin Doyle of Norwell.  The Program is done by Julie Alcott of Rockland.  And directing “Love Rides the Rails” is Dreamchasers Artistic Director Rosann M. Weeks.

Performances will be Friday, June 9th, at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 10th, at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 11th, at 2 p.m.  All performances are at The Norwell Grange Hall, 142 Main Street in Norwell.  Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for Senior Citizens and students, and $5 for Dreamchasers students.  Tickets go on sale at the theatre thirty minutes prior to each performance or can be reserved by calling 508-224-4548.  There will be a final dress rehearsal on Thursday, June 8th, at 4 p.m.  Senior Citizens are invited to attend this final dress rehearsal free of charge and share a discussion period with the cast and director following the rehearsal.
